Girair “Jerry” Goumroian is Founder and Proprietor of Las Vegas-based award-winning Meráki Greek Grill and Kávos Coastal Greek Grill, a new concept coming to the highly anticipated upscale food hall at UnCommons, The Sundry. With almost two decades of culinary and leadership experience, Goumroian leads the brand development, menu development and restaurant operations for both restaurant brands.
Additionally, in 2020 Goumroian partnered with renowned Chef Michael Mina and the Mina Group to conceptualize and open Estiatorio Ornos, a highly acclaimed Greek restaurant with locations in Miami and San Francisco and plans of expansion in the future.
Born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Goumroian’s culinary passion was sparked at a young age while helping at his parents’ Greek restaurants. He officially began his career at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, before returning to Las Vegas to work with world-renowned chefs, including Michelin-starred Chef Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace and Chef Adam Sobel of Mina Group.
After honing his craft on the famed Las Vegas Strip, Goumroian rejoined his father to help operate their family-owned Greek restaurants in 2008. With best friend Nikolaos Georgousis at the helm as Executive Chef, it wasn’t long before they were dreaming up their own culinary concepts.
After selling the family-owned business to a national restaurant group in 2016, Goumroian opened Meráki Greek Grill in partnership with Georgousis who serves as Executive Chef and Partner. Under Goumroian’s leadership, Meráki Greek Grill became an award-winning restaurant beloved for its neighborhood charm and creative take on authentic Greek dishes. In only five years, Goumroian and his team have earned several accolades, including two top spots in Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” and Yelp’s “Top 100 Restaurants in America.” Meráki has expanded to four locations in the Las Vegas Valley with two more set to open by the end of 2023.
